The Mar del Plata (Argentina) International Film Festival, organized by the National Institute of Cinema and Audiovisual Arts (INCAA), promotes the film and audiovisual activity in all of its forms, screening films of different origins, and supporting thematic diversity and styles. In it, the tradition of classic cinema coexists with new tendencies, new voices and new technologies.

Historically, the Festival has been divided into different sections.

First there is the Competitive section. For each edition, members of the jury are carefully selected to award films from the International Competition, Latin American Feature Film and Short Film Competitions, plus the Argentine Feature Film, Short Film Competition, Altered States Competition and Work In Progress categories.

Secondly, Panorama is the section where viewers can find the best and latest works of international production. Acclaimed filmmakers and new talents combine with diverse subject matters in sections such as as Mar de Chicos, targeted to younger audiences, Original Soundtrack, featuring films where music plays the leading role, or Super 8 –16 mm– a tribute to historical formats, in sections such as Hora Cero, Generación VHS and Las Venas Abiertas, among others.

Number three is the Tributes and Retrospectives section that seeks to revisit the work of prestigious directors putting them back into circulation. This section also prompts new trends by focusing on current filmmakers that would otherwise not make it to the theaters. It is a key section that values works based on their cultural legacy for present and future cinema.

Fourth is the Rescues section, where national and international film heritage comes to life for audiences to enjoy some of the industry's former glories. The Festival is also characterized by its appealing special events: master classes, round tables, book presentations, special screenings and seminars on new cinema critique. The 2018 edition also hosted the first edition of the successful Cinema and Gender Perspective Forum, a key space for reflection that exposed the inequalities of the audiovisual industry.

The San Diego Asian Film Festival is the flagship event of Pacific Arts Movement (Pac Arts), one of the largest media arts organizations in North America that focuses on Asian and Asian American cinema. The festival is dedicated to highlighting the diversity and breadth of Asian Pacific Islander and Asian international images, from impassioned independent voices and provocative documentary subjects to the top hits from the world's biggest continent, the latest works from the masters of cinema, and the fresh points of view of Asian Pacific Islander American filmmakers.

Founded in 2000, the festival has grown from a grassroots labor of love to become one of the most respected festivals in Southern California for its commitment to filmmaker experience, its cutting-edge programming and its enthusiastic audiences. Over the years, the festival has presented everything from future classics like Bong Joon-ho's MEMORIES OF MURDER (U.S. premiere) to luminary independent work like Patrick Wang's award-winning IN THE FAMILY (North American premiere). Each year, the festival brings to San Diego the West Coast, North American, and world premieres of films from around the globe, and gives audiences unique opportunities to discover international cinema.

Our Vision for SDAFF is to:

Present provocative stories that represent the diversity and dynamism of the Asian and Asian American experience, and market these stories to the broadest audience possible.
Provide a venue to showcase and contextualize innovative and important films that are directed by, acted by, or about Asians or Asian Pacific Islander Americans.
Celebrate San Diego's diverse Asian Pacific Islander communities and encourage a better understanding of the different cultures locally.
Cultivate local talent by providing meaningful programs and resources for minority students to pursue careers in media, film, and the arts.
Promote San Diego County as a location to shoot and view films, and to make San Diego an arts destination.

Tokyo Docs is an international event designed to support the overseas expansion of documentaries, including international co-productions. It allows Japanese and Asian documentary filmmakers to network with decision makers from Japan and abroad to help secure funding for Japanese and Asian documentaries' production and support their broadcast, distribution, screening, and sales overseas.

"The Main Pitch" is an opportunity for you to pitch your project for overseas expansion, including international co-productions, to decision makers (people involved in broadcasting and distribution) in Japan and overseas. We hope you will use this as an opportunity to secure funding for your production and support for overseas broadcasting, distribution, screening, and sales. Proposals should be documentaries on various issues facing Japan and the world, people's diverse ways of life, social problems, history, natural science, culture, travelogues, etc. (Commercial travelogues are excluded.) Along with new projects, projects to produce an international version of a broadcast program or develop a short film into a feature film also fall under this category. However, projects with a universal appeal are required. For Japanese filmmakers selected for the Pitch in advance, there will be development support funds for trailer production. Pitchers must prepare a 7 minute pitch video that combines a description of the project and a trailer. The creation of the video will be done with the advice of tutors from overseas. Tokyo Docs will also provide subtitles and other support. This video will be used to present to the international decision makers.

Tokyo Docs' "Short Documentary Showcase", launched in 2017, nominates 6 to 8 films each year from completed submissions (10 minutes or less in length) from Japan and abroad. As the younger generation receives information through digital means, the content is required to depict themes they are interested in with various works. Directors will be asked to make a one-minute presentation to the broadcasting and distribution professionals and pitch it along with a 10-minute film. In addition, we will provide a one-on-one opportunity to conduct business negotiations during the event, so please make use of this opportunity to develop your work further. Details of the "Short Documentary Showcase 2022" will be announced on this website as they become available.

Mini Film Festival is the longest running short film festival in Malaysia annually held by the Cinematography Programme, Faculty of Applied and Creative Arts, University Malaysia Sarawak. This ever-flourishing film festival is now stepping into its 18th year with the support of many passionate individuals.

As a means of creative expression that draws heavily from reality, portraying scenarios that reflect the everyday struggles and aspirations of viewers' lives, the film plays a vital role as a medium of entertainment, information and education and as a catalyst for social change. This is even truer with the impacts brought by the enduring pandemic changing the political-socio-economic dynamics worldwide. The role of filmmakers in interpreting, documenting and discerning the dynamics and changes happening in the time of crisis is undoubtedly needed.

It is a continuation of previous year's theme, "In Time of Crisis", when we see COVID-19 has upended the creative industry and impacted so many filmmakers and practitioners whose livelihoods rely heavily on their day-to-day job. However, we believe a crisis is an opportunity to renovate what has to be done. It is the turning point when new possibilities are encountered and found. Hence, a revival in the post-pandemic era, we hope. Thus, with the theme of this year's 18th Mini Film Festival, "Revival", let's explore the infinite possibilities of inspirations that films could bring to us.

"Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia" (SSFF & ASIA) is a film festival held at the Harajuku/Omotesando area in Tokyo, in June every year since its first festival in 1999. It is one of the largest international short film festival in Asia, and every year more than 10,000 works are gathered from all over the world. Led by its official competition (Japan division, Asia International division, international division), the festival consists of various divisions and programs with diverse genres - from "environment," to "tourism," "CG animation," "non-fiction" and more. In addition, the winner of the Grand Prix award is eligible to be nominated in the short film category of the Academy Awards® the following year. In celebration of its 20th anniversary in 2018, the festival Grand Prix was named the "George Lucas Award" in honour of the great director George Lucas.

In addition to the film festival held in June every year, we are continually working on promoting short films and movie culture through various projects. For example, in the "Branded Shorts" project launched in 2016, we brought together a company with promotional and branding challenges, and short film producers to create a new short film production model. Additionally, the online cinema "Brillia SHORTSHORTS THEATER ONLINE" that started in 2018 made it possible to access worldwide short films at any time, from anywhere.
