Launched in 2000 as a non-competitive film festival that adopts partial competition, the JEONJU International Film Festival (JEONJU IFF) introduced independent and experimental films at the forefront to shine a spotlight on the alternative movements of contemporary film art. JEONJU IFF discovers talents of promising filmmakers who could be the future leaders of filmmaking, endorse creative experiments and independent spirits, and provides the opportunity to meet and bond with international filmmakers.

JEONJU Cinema Project, a feature film financing & production program, has gained ground as JEONJU IFF's independent brand that encompasses flim industry's fields such as investment, production and distribution. Furthermore, JEONJU Project's development support for superb Korean feature films and documentaries, the business of distributing independent film contents and the JEONJU Cine Complex represent JEONJU IFF's vision to create a constant and new added value beyond the film festival.

Founded in 1998, the Taiwan International Documentary Festival, TIDF, is one of the major professional platforms for documentaries in Asia. We are looking for innovative documentaries with unique points of views which are relevant to social and human interests.

TIDF is a biennial festival that presents a well-curated programme of more than 130 films, and includes festival-related public and educational programs, such as Q&A sessions, workshops, and exhibitions. Each edition of TIDF attracts an audience of more than 25, 000.

In 2014, the TIDF executive team established its permanent office under the Taiwan Film and Audiovisual Institute. Under the leitmotif "Re-encounter Reality", TIDF presents a program with three competitions (International, Asian, and Taiwanese) and varying program sections. It is our aim to create a platform for quality documentaries from all over the world, and to foster exchange among directors, film professionals and audiences.

(Busan, Korea) - Busan International Short Film Festival (BISFF) began in 1980 under the name "Korean Short Film Festival". Its aim was to introduce independent short films from the greater Busan area and to foster film talent. It was renamed "Busan Short Film Festival" in 1997, and again in 2000 as "Busan Asian Short Film Festival", becoming the first Korean short film festival to extend the competition internationally, introducing other Asian short films and directors to Korean viewers. In 2010, the name was changed once again to "Busan International Short Film Festival" to extend the competition beyond Asia. At present, the festival awards the most creative and excellent short films in the competition sections (International Competition, Korean Competition, Operation KINO), and showcases short films from around the world.

Beginning in 2012, we reinforced the personality of the festival by adopting the guest country program, focusing on the films and cultures of one country each year. Beginning with France, every year saw a different country ? China (2013), Spain (2014), Sweden (2015), Austria (2016), Canada (2017), New Zealand (2018), Switzerland (2019), and Belgium (2020).

Besides the competition sections, BISFF hosts various programs such as special exhibitions, retrospective exhibitions, and overseas invitations to identify short film trends from around the world. It breaks away from fiction films to provide more varied contents such as experimental films, animations, and documentaries.

While short film festivals in an international scale are still rare in Korea, BISFF aims to become the "hub of Asian short films", a venue to promote Korean and other Asian short films to the world. As the first Korean film festival to become an Academy Awards Qualifying Festival, BISFF sends its grand prize recipient from the competition sections to be considered for the short film (except documentaries) nominations in the Academy Awards. It is also contributing to the progress of short films through collaborations with such programs as NETPAC and Short Film Conference.
